“We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community... Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.” Cesar Chavez
I'm a candidate for the Chino Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees because it's time to re-focus on our youth. I'm a working-parent and classroom volunteer who is committed to protecting the continued attack on the Special Education fund,avoiding further cuts in the classrooms (including teacher positions), and putting forth strong efforts to get more of our high school students enrolled in higher education.
As a concerned member of the community I am willing to take a strong stance toward providing parents a voice so that they may advocate on behalf of their children freely and without reproach.
Now is the time to expend our energy in retaining great teachers. My goal is to work as a team with stakeholders from all "3" cities that are part of the Chino Valley School District so as to improve classroom performance and accountability.
Our children deserve better;
- I will serve the community of the Chino Valley in a prudent manner in order to restore Parental trust. I will consider long-running consequences before moving forward on any decisions made on behalf of students, teachers, and parents.
- I will consider all solutions that could provide fiscal strength to the district while limiting further cuts to much needed educational programs. During these difficult economic times, it's imperative that we become dedicated stewards of reduced educational budgets for the sake of our children, and their futures.
- I will advocate for parents, students, teachers, and classified staff to ensure that their needs are met in every aspect that relates to the education of all CVUSD children.
- I will seek ways to raise the academic performance of our under-performing schools by asking for the direct involvement of teachers and parents for the benefit of students and with the ultimate goal of getting our school district out of "Program Improvement" status.
"Public Service Parents can Trust!"
